General Information

INFORMATION FOR FOREIGN PARTICIPANTS

Passport & Visa
Nationals of all countries must have valid passport and visa for visiting Bangladesh. Participants will require obtaining visa from Bangladesh embassy/ High Commission or Diplomatic Mission in the participant’s country prior to departure. Official invitation can be extended to individuals upon request for obtaining visa, but is not a commitment for providing any financial support.

Access to Dhaka
The airport is situated 12 km away from most of the hotels. Taxi is recommended transport for foreign participants.

Foreign exchange and currency
Currency of Bangladesh is Taka. Exchange rate of US dollar is approximately 1 US $= 70 taka. Traveler’s cheques and internationally accepted credit cards (VISA, Master card) are accepted in large hotels and big shopping malls.

Language
English will be the official language of the conference. Interpretation in other languages will not be provided.

Weather
August is late summer in Dhaka. Day- time temperature ranges from 26-30⁰ C.
